My in-laws have pretty much everything they need or want so I had to come up with something different for a birthday. Knowing they probably have not heard of this new technology, I bought one. They have it hanging on the kitchen wall because they don't have much floor space and they absolutely L-O-V-E it. They were able to mount it on their own (they're in their 70's)and it works great for them.

Excellent heater warms quickly. Other reviews talk about horrible smell on first use. This was a slight odor and dissipated quickly for my model.

I have purchased over a dozen of these units these past 2 years. I supply them to my renters who do not want to use the oil furnaces in their houses. They have found them to be a safe and economical way to heat.

I bought this heater last year and imediately thought I had made a mistake. But after using it a while, it has become my favorite room heater. I can use it anywhere and not be afraid of fire, it's the only electric heater I will leave on at night. As stated above the back does get hotter than the brochure indicates, but certainly not hot enough to start a fire, so I use it on the provided legs. At night I turn the thermastat down and use this heater in my bedroom, it has really saved me on energy cost. I love it's portability. I believe many people are not use to the way this heater works, and are not giving it a chance. I came to Amazon today to buy another one, saw some of the low ratings given by buyers, and decided to let Amazon buyers know "THIS IS EXCELLENT PRODUCT". One thing, It will stink until the new burns off, then it's a really good heater...........My two dogs and cat love it, they live in front of it on cold days.......I don't usually write reviews for Amazon, though I buy lots of things from them, this time I felt I had to defend my choice of heaters. By the way I have two of those Wal-mart cheapies and they can't touch this one. I recomend this product.....

I bought the Soleus Air HGW-308 model in September 2005 and have used it every winter since. I did not buy it to heat a whole room, but to heat my immediate area, such as in the sun room when I'm watching t.v. For more than one person in the sun room, I would use the room heat pump. However, for the comfort of one person, it works just fine. I like its total quiet operation and have not had a problem with the thermostat. I agree that it would not be able to heat an entire large room, such as a sun room or garage. For the purpose that I had in mind when I bought this heater, it does the job. For additional comfort in my sun room, I added a portable Hunter humidifierHunter 34352 Care Free Humidifierplus 3-1/2-Gallon Humidifier, with Exclusive NiteGlo Night Light. This, plus the Soleus, makes the room area comfortable in the winter.

this product works perfect in my daughters room upstairs the room is 17 x 14. It holds 70deg thruout room with 1/2 half setting

I put this heater in my daughter's bedroom in December 2006. It keeps her room heated throughout at a consistent temperature in the cold months. The unit is never hot to the touch and uses little electricity. Our pets love to lay right next to it on a cold day. I have always been a little nervous about the burn and fire hazards associated with space heaters, but feel perfectly safe with this one. Steady on it's feet, also - with all the activity, I would have expected it to get tipped over a few times by now, but it hasn't. I am getting ready to order another for the living room.
