Reflective heating technology replicates the sun’s healthy rays, directly warming the object or person in front of the heater. As the temperature of the heated surface rises, the warming effect is felt throughout the air and surrounding areas. Reflective heating is both safe and healthy– it produces no odors, chemicals, or fumes, and doesn’t stir up dust. As a safety feature, the heater’s exterior does not get as warm to reduce the risk of burns from anyone or anything touching the heater while in use. Heater arrived on time and in good condition. I've been using the heater and it works great. I like that it does not make any noise like many other heaters. The only drawback that some people will complain about is the brightness of it when on high. Otherwise it's a good heater.

This is the best heater on the market. I bought one for my household 3 years ago. My recent purchase was a gift. We have used the Soleus continuously, all day, or just evenings and mornings, when we require extra heat. Especially me, I grew up in the NW and seem to always be cold. We have rarely used it on high, even though it has 2 settings- 400 and 800. The low setting is completely satisfying and gives us just the right amount of background warmth. If you are in a drafty location, this is the heater for you, extremely economical and efficient because it heats you and the objects of the room, not the air (which goes right out the windows). It is also an excellent heater to use when one is working online (computers) in lessor heated rooms. I have owned many different space heaters, even ceramic, they are all the same, energy wasters. This is the first supplemental heater I have ever owned that is so economical, no more than 25 dollars a month for continuous use. I also use a gas furnace, so this is not my main source of heat. And yes, it does get cold in Arizona, here, 12 degrees last week, and average 18 each night. I would buy one again in a second if this one eventually fails. Service? My Soleus (MS-10R) is a prior model, but same style as the current model offered by Soleus- it has given stellar service, never once malfunctuning. My recent purchase (gift for father) was the newer model, purchased new.

I've had this HR1-8R Soleus now for 2 weeks. It is a great electric heater. I have 2 little kids, so 2 nice features are it is not hot to the touch and if it falls over it automatically shuts off. It is bright but doesn't bother me at all in my basement office. It has a remote control which is very convenient. It swings left to right and has a high/low setting. I always have it set on high but I tend to get cold easily. I have it in a 18x19 room in my basement and its just enough to take the chill off. You have to be within 8-12 feet to feel the warmth. If you want something that will make the whole room warm then this isn't the product. For my needs it has met them.

I read other reviews of the heater and decided to take a chance. I needed something to provide very localized heat. It's quiet and seems to provide enough heat on the low setting. The oscillating feature is good, too. Although it generates a lot of light, it's a very soft flame-like color that I kind of like. It reminds me of the light from a fireplace. Can't tell if it's cheaper to operate. I was looking for infrared and I still can't really determine if it produces infrared light or not. It doesn't say so in the literature that I can find, but it was included in search results for infrared heaters. I'm very satisfied so far, though it's early in the winter season.
