A little gem that's saving me!
CaesarsGhost (USA) 3/13/2012 3:52 PM
I moved into my first place without a dishwasher in my life, and was not used to washing dishes by hand. Don't do it one night and POOF! All of a sudden you have a big problem in the form of an overflowing sink the next. Since I work for a living, the last thing I want to do is scrub dishes. The landlord promised to remodel the kitchen, but that never happened... so I came across this little Gem in my bid to fix the problem that was the full sink. I was skeptical, I've always had a nice big conventional dishwasher available to me and I wondered if I'd get the same results with this. ...it works... First load I just did all glasses so I could easily inspect them. They came out looking sparkly and clean. Second load I got cocky and put in a few pots with some serving utensils... came out clean as well. The third load took it's toll a bit when I washed some bowls, but I ran them a second time and they were also clean. I'm amazed at this little gizmo. It's small, but efficient. It took me longer to unbox then to hook up. Understand that it is a compact unit, not all things fit (*cough*wok*cough*)... and it's not meant for heavy duty washing. If you live someplace without a dishwasher, this is a must have though.

Thank God, no more hand washing!,
Melanie A. Hevel (MN, USA) 3/12/2012 2:49 PM
I had been hand washing dishes for five years, and was getting so sick of it, I felt like I was going nuts and that it was the only thing I was ever doing! I vowed to never move again to a place with no dishwasher but alas this apartment was so nice except for that fact (and also met my other criteria: a thermostat I could control for the first time in five years), so I went for it. Once moved in, hand washing dishes was even tougher than usual because the sink was only one basin, not two like most kitchen sinks! I had noticed that before moving in, but I didn't think about what an annoyance that would be. So, I jokingly asked for a dishwasher for my birthday, took measurements, figured out which one to ask for, and amazingly, Mom actually got it for me! Thank you, Mommy! So I have had this thing for five months now; I think that qualifies me to speak about it. I LOVE it. I am so ecstatic to not have to hand wash dishes anymore, sometimes I just look at it in amazement. Although my place is nice, it is an efficiency, so my kitchen, living room, and bedroom are all in one big room. Despite this, the dishwasher noise is hardly obtrusive even while sleeping. I mean, sometimes I notice the noise and maybe have to turn the TV up a couple notches, but it is a no-brainer trade-off compared to hand-washing all the time! The unit does beep eight times upon completion but even that becomes unobtrusive once you get used to it. Depending on how many dishes/pots/pans build-up or how many I use to make a meal, I sometimes can't fit everything in, but I would not call this factor an issue at all. The only suggestions I have are, 1) read the owner's manual front-to-back to familiarize yourself with everything; 2) as the owner's manual suggests, every couple weeks or so (depending on how messy your stuff is when you put it in), take the drawer out, and then take the two pieces out of the "floor" of the washer (the white plastic cylindrical thing and the metal mesh square thing), and rinse them off thoroughly (I also use the kitchen sink hose to rinse out the inside of the until when I do this and let it drain into the hole). If you don't do this, you will start to notice lots of bits left on your dishes; but MOST importantly, 3) If anything such as a large utensil, leaning dinner plates, a pot, etc. is leaning into the indented area on the front of the drawer by the utensil holder and soap holder (when door is closed), it will block the soap door from opening all the way at the time of release, and when your load finishes, you will see some soap still in the soap thing. This area must be kept pretty clear so the little soap door has room to open all the way. Another relatively minor issue is that, at least in my case, the low drying agent indicator light doesn't always come on when the drying agent is low or empty, so you just have to keep your eye on that little port every so often (there is something about that in the manual). To me, these problems are practically non-issues and I think this is a fabulous dishwasher! I will write again if any other issues ever arise.

This is exactly what I needed
J. Booth (USA) 1/17/2012 2:46 PM
I have been doing dishes by hand for years now, not having a dishwasher. I got used to it. I saw this countertop dishwasher in a movie, and decided to get one- this is the one. It's simple to hook up- it took me ten minutes. I had to use plumbers tape for the faucet nozzle thing- and I do recomend taking the aerator out, as it makes the water pressure spray hard... (The only thing I don't really care for). It's very quiet when it runs, and I was surprised about that. I can fit a lot inside, and it all stacks nicely. I use the little Cascade tablets for soap, and it takes rinse aid. It has several options for programs for which types of dishes you're washing. I love this thing- I usually run it when I'm headed to bed, because it's quiet enough to sleep. I live by myself, but my boyfriend usually eats a few nights a week with me, and it's perfect for the dishes we use. It's also has the Energy Star sticker on it, so that's nice. It's exactly what I needed- I'm so happy with this thing.

Just bought it...day one!
Aria D (CA, USA) 4/25/2011 11:59 AM
I just bought this dishwasher and was thrilled at how quickly it arrived. I purchased it on Wednesday and it arrived on Thursday! Tracking was a breeze. Once I unpacked the unit, I was surprised at how light it was. It came with all the parts to install it to my sink's faucet, though it did take me a few minutes to discover the plastic hookup actually had the faucet adaptor inside it. Once I pulled the metal faucet adapter out and screwed it onto my sink's faucet - I was ready to go. I hooked up all the tubes - be careful not to over tighten them, but get them tight! I plugged the unit in and turned on the water. No leaks so I put a few dishes in and started the washer last night. The unit is surprisingly quiet (for a dishwasher) and it takes awhile for the load to run. Once the load was finished I just open the door to let everything dry out. Tonight will be my second try with the dishwasher. So far everything is good, no leaks. I set the unit up on a kitchen cart with wheels so I can just move it to the sink when I'm ready to use it. The silver color is nice and the door design is very simple. No buttons to press before you can open the door or close it. Just a simple pull or push to shut it. When the unit is powered, opening or closing the door results in a beep. This is an energy star efficient washer, so I'm hoping it saves me on time and water (hand washing dishes tends to take me more water than this unit uses). I will try and edit or add another review once I've had the unit a little longer.
