This is an initial review as I've only had this dehumidifier for two weeks. However, my initial impression is positive.
The positive:
- I opted for the 65-pint model as my furnished basement is about 900 square feet. This model sufficiently dries the basement running between 50-60% humidity at the current avg. temp of 70-75 degrees. We've had very wet weather for the entire summer here in New York and this humidifier has been running almost non-stop for the last two weeks.
- Relatively quiet. I sleep through the noise of the dehumidifier going on and off throughout the night. It might be a nuisance to a very light sleeper, but I assume that the average consumer doesn't sleep near their dehumidifier anyway.
- Good price. I researched dehumidifiers mainly on Amazon, and in the store at Home Depot, Target, Lowes and Walmart. The stores didn't carry this product, but their comparable models were more expensive.
The negative:
- Nothing yet. But I'll update this review after I've had this model for at least one full season of use.

I purchased this after reading reviews on multiple alternatives (Danby and Frigidaire), as well as the reviews and ratings at Consumer Reports. I stayed away from the Danby and the Frigidaire models because of the fact that one did not shut off at all (fan keeps running after compressor turns off) and the problems with using the continuous drain to a sump bucket (having to tilt the unit backward?). This was the first time I've heard of the "Supentown" brand but decided to take a chance and so far am impressed. The unit looks great and is very quiet. I could hardly hear the compressor turn on whereas my old unit (bought cheap at Home Depot 5 yrs ago) sounded like a train rumbling and kicked off a ton of heat. The noise from the fan is not too loud on the Turbo mode, and pretty quiet on normal mode. I put this in the basement and have it draining directly to my sump bucket (which has a "DH port" for this very purpose) with the hose adapter that is included (they include a 6 inch piece of clear rubber tubing and the plastic threaded hose adapter to which a garden hose will attach, and it drains out the back of the unit. I had an extra dishwasher drain hose with a rubber coupling that I used instead of a garden hose). I'm in MA with a full basement (4 bedroom colonial home), partially finished with a kids playroom, the other portion of the basement has concrete floors with my workshop. The humidity level was above 60% (after old dehumidifier died) and things started to feel wet, especially the area rugs on the finished side and that musty basement smell was back. After an hour of running the unit on Turbo mode the humidity dropped to 53%, and by the morning it was below 45% and everything felt dry and the air was much more comfortable. There was little heat produced by this unit which was a nice surprise after running it at full blast for 12 hours I expected heat. I also like the digital display that allows you to set the desired humidity level, although it only moves up or down in 5% increments, no big deal. The unit will also shut down completely once the desired level is reached (and won't turn back on until the humidity rises more than 5%). So overall I am very pleased with this purchase and would recommend buying this unit.

I purchased this dehumidifier to replace an LG model that bid the dust. The Supentown came as advertised and had a number of features not found on my prior dehumidifiers. It could run to 41 degrees whereas other dehumidifiers bought through the big box stores could run only as low as 60 degrees. This is a major advantage as I have one in my garage and like to get rid of the rain and snow that accumulates during the winter months so we can avoid mold.
The connection for the hose to drain the unit was easy to install and much more permanent than other units I have purchased in the past. It is quiet to run and has the usual controls for maximum humidity removal or for maintenance of humidity levels.
I was so impressed with this purchase that I bought a second one for the basement. So far both units have surpassed my expectations.

Even though I haven't had this dehumidifier for a long time, I just wanted to enter a quick review about the noise level because I read some people complained about it. Previous to this unit I had two other dehumidifiers - haier and frigidaire - and this one is by far the less noisy.

This thing works big time! In a few hours the tank has gallons in it! Flippin amazing!!!
Ran it and ran it in a recently flooded musty damp Pennsylvania basement, and within one-two days it was clean smelling and dry!
Dumped tank after tank of massive amounts of water from the air.
Works with tank or a hose attached.
Makes about as much sound as a medium to large fan.
Get it. This thing rocks. Love it.
