When my husband injured his shoulder (rotator cuff)I ordered this thinking massage would help .Bad idea .This is more for the back then anything else.This is a big machine, at least 10 in or more across with rugged action ,flat underneath and not something that fits contours of limbs, not powerful, but it hurt his arm and set the healing back a week, he claimed. We finally bought a ultrasonic massager to stimulate circulation ,which is what we needed .Do your research to make sure you get the right type of massager for what you have in mind
